The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation invites Owners and guests to explore one of the world’s greatest architectural wonders—Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.
Taliesin West, Scottsdale's only National Historic Landmark, is a prime example of Wright’s organic architecture in that it is built out of the rocks and sand of the Sonoran Desert and melds to the lower McDowell Mountains. Wright's desert masterpiece is not a museum and serves to this day as the winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright’s School of Architecture. It is featured in numerous “Top 100” lists in architectural history, befitting Wright’s status as the most influential architect of the 20th century.
Frank Lloyd Wright, the master architect who conceived NewYorkCity’s Guggenheim Museum and Pennsylvania’s Falling Water, thought of Taliesin West as his winter home, workplace and architectural laboratory. Today, expert guides lead guests through immersive tour experiences.
The 60-minute Panorama Tour visits the Cabaret Theater, Music Pavilion and Wright’s private office while exploring his talent for creatively linking indoor and outdoor spaces.
Our most popular 90-minute Insights Tour includes all stops in the Panorama Tour, along with special trips into the Wrights’ living quarters and the gracious Taliesin West “Garden Room.”
Set amid a scenic desert preserve of 491 acres, both tours wind through provocative terraces, landscaped gardens and walkways commanding dramatic views of Camelback Mountain and the Valley. Guests will walk approximately one-third of a mile and enjoy five stops where they can sit down while learning about the history of Taliesin West and its famous creator.
Taliesin West is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Additional information about tours and accessibility is available at www.franklloydwright.org.
Anneliese’s Bookstore at Taliesin West prides itself in stocking an immense collection of Frank Lloyd Wright licensed products and books. Please visit www.franklloydwright.com. The outdoor waiting area features an outdoor café (seasonal), offering visitors an assortment of light refreshments.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West is located at 12345 N. Taliesin Drive (at the corners of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Cactus Road), a mere ten minutes or so from the resort.
