Deep-sea sport fishing is awesome year-round in Kaua‘i. All the classic big-game trophy fish are here to catch. Striped marlin show up in winter and spring. Trophy-size Pacific blue marlin are prevalent during the summer. And yellowfin tuna “ahi” are caught all year.
When your reel’s drag starts singing, the surprise is all part of the fun: It could also be a black marlin, short-billed spearfish, skipjack tuna, mahi-mahi (dorado), or even ono (wahoo) at the end of the line. Start reeling and find out.
With Kaua‘i’s small population and minimal fishing pressure, the fish are always abundant. In between catches, you can relax comfortably in a fully outfitted, 30-foot Wilson as the captain and crew search for signs of fish. With its wide, 10-foot beam, this stable boat handles ocean rollers with ease and rides better than most.
Kaua‘i’s deep-sea charter boats usually depart from Nawiliwili Harbor. Charters typically come in 4-, 6- or 8-hour tours and can be "share trips" with other anglers or "private charters" for yourself and your party. All equipment, fishing licenses and ice are provided on the boat.
