One of the best ways to immerse yourself in the Palm Springs culture is to visit the heart of the city downtown. With Mount San Jacinto in the background and towering palm trees lining the streets, this friendly area is bustling with quaint art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. With plenty to keep you entertained, make time to enjoy one of the many museums and exhibits or the lively street fair called VillageFest.

I highly recommend going to the Palm Springs downtown street fair. The fair is held on Thursday evenings. It has wonderful arts and crafts and excellent food booths and entertainment.

Restaurants along the downtown strip offer great variety and quality food.
Happy houris a great time to work your way down the street until you hit your chosen dinner venue. The shopping a little further along the strip has some fun stores varying from collectibles to furniture.
Every Thursday evening, the entire downtown is shut to automobile traffic and the street is filled with flea market type booths as well as food stands.
