Molokini is an ancient volcanic crater located just a few miles from Maui. It rises from 300 feet below the ocean’s surface and is almost half a mile wide.
The isolation of Molokini Crater creates a unique snorkeling experience. Molokini is rock, with no sediment to wash down into the water. Offshore currents bring food and unsurpassed water clarity. Inside the sheltered arms of the crater, Molokini is an amazing underwater Marine Sanctuary. Molokini’s shallow reef is teeming with a wide variety of colorful and fascinating fish and marine animals.
Because of its unique dynamics and underwater majesty, snorkeling at Molokini is unlike any other Maui snorkeling destination. With its crystal clear sheltered waters, Molokini snorkeling is a safe and unique adventure for the entire family.

"Molokini and Turtle Town"
We took the Molokini and Turtle town snorkel cruise for the day. The water was a bit rough, and had some people experience sea sickness. We saw several turtles, countless fish, and enjoyed our time on the ocean in the sun.

I recommend Kai Kanani because it is the shortest run to Molokini. It is a bit of a drive, but if you get sea sick time in the car is better than time at sea. Afterwards try checking out the area.

"Molokini Snorkel Trip"
Great snorkeling for the whole family. The boats are nice, well equipped and the staff is knowledgeable. It is like a whale watch and a snorkel trip all in one, as we saw many whales on our ride to the crater in January. Underwater, we were lucky to see manta rays, eels, turtles and plenty of colorful fish. This is a must do trip in Maui!
