Nothing can prepare you for the feelings you will experience on the summit of Haleakala volcano. Your journey begins with a panoramic sunrise view of Haleakala Crater—a once-in-a-lifetime experience—in Haleakala National Park. Visually stunning, the summit area is enormous in its scale and dimensions. After sunrise, get the ultimate experience as you coast down from the 6,500-foot elevation level of Haleakala through 21 switchbacks.

The landscape—deeply sculpted, richly colored, and intensely evocative—will be unlike any you have known. During your ride, you will see unbelievable views of the Islands of Hawai‘i, Molokini, Kahoolawe, Lanai, and the West Maui Mountains, with photo stops along the way. You'll also discover pineapple and sugar cane fields, along with many exotic plants and flowers.

You'll arrive at sea level in Paia, the original territorial capital of Hawai‘i. It's a 28-mile downhill ride on paved roads with only 400 yards of peddling.

Easy for all family members.
Vistana Community Member "Watch the sun rise from Haleakala" — 02/09/2018 "Watch the sun rise from Haleakala" 02/09/2018 Recommend that you do this the morning after you get to Maui. Dress warmly, it will be cold at 10,000 ft. You can get great pictures. The fun part was riding you bike down from the volcano. New rules now restrict access to this park, so book early.
