Molokini is an ancient volcanic crater located just a few miles from Maui. It rises from 300 feet below the ocean’s surface and is almost half a mile wide.
The isolation of Molokini Crater creates a unique snorkeling experience. Molokini is rock, with no sediment to wash down into the water. Offshore currents bring food and unsurpassed water clarity. Inside the sheltered arms of the crater, Molokini is an amazing underwater Marine Sanctuary. Molokini’s shallow reef is teeming with a wide variety of colorful and fascinating fish and marine animals.
Because of its unique dynamics and underwater majesty, snorkeling at Molokini is unlike any other Maui snorkeling destination. With its crystal clear sheltered waters, Molokini snorkeling is a safe and unique adventure for the entire family.

I would like to recommend this trip during whale season. On your way to a cool snorkel trip you may just get an opportunity to see a few whales.

"Molokini snorkel trip"
We did this snorkel trip with the Pacific Whale Foundation and it was memorable. The all female crew was extremely knowledgeable and graduates of marine biology programs. The boat accommodated a maximum of 34 which was so nice in comparison to other snorkel tours that held more than 100 on other service providers. Take the time to visit the Pacific Whale Foundation !

Snorkeling at Molikini is amazing! My husband went diving there at the same time and he had a magnificent time. Beautiful fish and the reef is colorful.
