Farmers Market

Get a taste of local culture and customs by exploring a lively farmers market.

One of my favorite ways to get a true taste of Hawaiian living is by visiting one of the many farmers markets peppered throughout the island. You’ll meet the locals, sample fresh, local produce, and find an assortment of baked goods, hot foods and handmade goods from local artisans.

All markets are outdoors and some are scenically set against mountains, valleys or the ocean, so you can enjoy the beautiful island sights as you browse and shop.

The closest market to The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas — and probably the most popular market on Kaua‘I — is located right down the road in Hanalei. It’s been voted as one of the “Top 5 Farmers Markets” by Hawaii Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards, and would be a great add to your itinerary.

Feast and celebrate the island’s history at this unforgettable dining, entertainment, and cultural experience.

It really wouldn’t be a trip to Hawai‘i without experiencing a traditional Hawaiian lūa‘u. There are several options to choose from, but one thing is for sure, you’ll become immersed in the culture and storytelling of the island.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the spirit of aloha. As you dine on local cuisine and sip a tropical beverage, you will be treated like a Hawai‘i native. Take a trip through the history of our home through food, music, and entertainment that can’t be found anywhere else.

Due to the popularity of these events, available spaces fill up quickly, so let us schedule your reservation for one of our most treasured island traditions soon.

RumFire Poipu Beach

Head to the island’s south shore for a meal and view you won’t forget.

If you’re ready to venture out on the island for a tasty change, I’d strongly recommend you head to the south shore and Po‘ipū Beach. You’ll find RumFire Poipu Beach, an oceanfront hotspot for modern island dining at Sheraton Kauai Resort. Its exquisite dining room is the perfect choice for a decadent dinner, featuring locally sourced cuisine with global influences and an extensive cocktail menu that includes the largest rum selection on Kaua‘i.  Floor-to-ceiling windows provide incomparable views of Po‘ipū Beach and stunning sunsets.

Be sure to ask about the Stay at One, Dine at All program. As an Owner or Guests of The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, you’re able to charge back your meal to your villa when dining at Sheraton Kauai Resort or St. Regis Princeville.

Tahiti Nui

Treat yourself to this iconic local restaurant for delicious food, live music, and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Tahiti Nui is the oldest restaurant in Hanalei and a local favorite. Since being featured in the George Clooney movie, The Descendants, it’s also become a hotspot for visitors.

Keep in mind, Tahiti Nui is a small restaurant and can get crowded. Since they don’t take reservations, I recommend coming for lunch or an early dinner. The menu is tasty and as authentic as it is varied. From macadamia panko crusted fresh ono to build-your-own pizzas, you will definitely leave satisfied.

If you’re coming for dinner, make plans to stay and enjoy the live local music featured nightly. Always a good time, you’ll want to add this spot to your list.
