Easy At-Resort Burger Recipes

Grill your own burgers at Sheraton Vistana Resort with these tasty (and easy) recipes.


Classic American Cheeseburger

You can’t go wrong with a good ol’ traditional cheeseburger, especially when everyone can pick their own toppings.

Ingredients:
1 lb. lean ground beef
½ cup chopped onions
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
½ cup breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper
1 egg
Cheese slices of your choice
Hamburger buns

Optional Toppings
Ketchup
Mustard
Mayonnaise
Tomato
Red onion
Lettuce
Pickles

Directions
1. Preheat gas grill
2. Thoroughly mix ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and egg in your in-villa kitchen
3. Divide mixture into equal portions and shape patties to desired size
4. Grill until browned on both sides and slightly pink inside, about 7 minutes
5. Top with a slice of cheese and let sit until cheese melts, about 1 minute
6. Grill buns with cut side down until slightly toasted
7. Build your burger, serve and enjoy
 

Portobello Mushroom Burger

Vegetarians rejoice! This Portobello mushroom burger is exploding with flavor and will hit the spot while keeping you healthy.

Ingredients:
Portobello mushrooms, stems trimmed (one per burger)
1 tsp. vegetable or sunflower oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
Salt and pepper
1 cup shredded gouda or cheddar (or both)
1 tbsp. butter
Hamburger buns

Optional Toppings
Lettuce
Tomato
Red onion

Directions
1. Preheat gas grill
2. Rub oil on mushrooms and set on baking sheet
3. Mix garlic, butter, salt and pepper in bowl and gently spoon into mushrooms; top with cheese
4. Grill until cheese is melted and Portobello bottoms are browned
5. Toast buns on grill
6. Build your burger, serve and enjoy
 

Spicy Chicken Burgers

Not all burgers have to be beef. Try this signature chicken burger with a Mexican-inspired kick!

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground chicken
2 cups red onion
2 tbsp. jalapeños, finely chopped
1 tbsp. grill seasoning
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 cup Monterey jack cheese
Hamburger buns

Optional Toppings
Lettuce
Avocado slices
Salsa or taco sauce

Directions
1. Preheat gas grill
2. Thoroughly mix chicken, 1 cup of red onion, jalapeños, chili powder, grill seasoning and garlic
3. Shape into patties
4. Grill about 4 minutes on each side until browned
5. Top with cheese, then keep on grill until melted
6. Build your burger, adding leftover onions, avocado slices, and salsa or taco sauce; serve and enjoy
 

Peek-a-Boo Sliders

Turn your hamburger cookout into an exciting family activity by letting the kids help “hide” the secret ingredient. Get ready for melty, juicy, fun-sized burgers.

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
Cubes of sharp cheddar cheese (one per slider)
2 small tomatoes, sliced
Mini hamburger buns

Optional Toppings
Lettuce
Onion
Ketchup
Mustard

Directions
1. Thoroughly mix beef, crushed garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper
2. Form meatballs, one for each patty
3. Let the kids push one cube of cheese into each meatball
4. From meatball around cheese and flatten into patties
5. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side
6. Toast buns on grill and build your burger
7. Enjoy the “peek-a-boo” to the molten cheese center
